The red text used here is the same red text seen in Home – the color #ff0000. However, the following red text appears as well.

After the Ruins are exited, the Undertale title screen is shown. At the end of the genocide route, Flowey calls the human by the name of the fallen human (Chara). Similar to the genocide route in the full game, Chara identifies themself in the mirror (”It’s me, Chara.”), asks “Where are the knives.” in red text, and kills Toriel in one-hit. In the demo, one can play either a pacifist, neutral, or genocide route up through the end of the Ruins. The kickstarter campaign was launched on June 24, 2013, a full month after the demo. To be clear, the demo was released for download on (which you can still download here). The answers lie with the demo, which mirrors the beginning of the full game and heavily foreshadows the presence of Chara. Rather, it seems that Chara has been planned from the very start. It is highly unlikely that Chara was added mid-production when Toby Fox was creating Undertale.
